The Tahoma
In 1915, the wreck of  "The Tahoma" off the Island of Attu.  Attu is the large island in a group called Near Islands of the Aleutian Islands of Alaska. An article appeared in the Atlata Journal (1915) picturing the vessel.  The wreck of the U.S. Revenue Cutter Tahoma in the Aleutian Islands in Alaska occurred on Sept. 20, 1914. The following year, in 1915, the Revenue Cutter Service and the Life Saving Service were merged to create the U.S. Coast Guard.
