March Winds in Atlanta and Researching Old Newspapers #georgiapioneers #genealogy

March Winds. From the earliest of times, there was always a reporter for the newspaper. The contents of the old newspapers were varied, with the front page containing international and national news, followed by pages of disasters, obituaries, marriages , farm news and the weather. But the Local Column offers the creme de' la creme for genealogists. It mentions friends and relatives visiting the area, birthdays, marriages and other special family events. This is where one learns that uncle Herbert came visit from Chicago, and that aunt Sally left to visit her mother in Louisville. Also, that Aunt Mae was one hundred years of age today!  Charlton Co.
