Do not Forget to Search the Minute Books

1886 Atlanta Journal
The Minutes of the Inferior Court of most counties kept some pretty interesting records.  They are interesting to read because they reflect the daily activities of the settlements.  And more importantly,  the names of those who helped to build the community.  It may seem a tedious chore to read one of these books, however, it is the key to understanding the "whys" and "whens" of the times.  The good news is that these records are generally indexed.

Genealogy is the same way.  We are rather ignorant of the accomplishments of our ancestors, even several generations back.  The genealogist knows this.  That is why the search is so intriguing.
