The DNA Test Does Not Find Your Ancestors !

The DNA Test Does Not Find Your Ancestors

The standard DNA test offered today is nothing more than a comparison of living persons. Your ancestors are dead.

I hate to bring this up, however, the DNA testing does very little to help solve the lineage issues. It is more of a fun experience, like the horoscope craze of the 1960s. All that you are learning is what part of the world you hail from. And this depends upon which countries that company sampled. Lots of people are complaining because their Africian or Native American lineages were not discovered. That is because of limited sampling. It is simply a program which imputs selected data and then machine-computes the results. (Compare that method with programs which provide data concerning unemployment, the state of economy, etc. )The results depend upon how the data is entered. Hence, people are complaining about errors in their tests.
Nevertheless, It would be a great service to mankind if the surviving tribes of American Indians and all of the African countries were sampled.

If the company possesses the DNA of Tutankhamun or King Richard III (taken fro their bones), then it can be discovered whether or not they are your family. A true test of lineage, then, is to test DNA of the dead ancestor.

On the other hand, there are some promising features. Should you be adopted and your parents are still living, then the DNA will probably discover them for you! For the millions of persons who probably do not know the names of their parents a match can finally be achieved without fretting over non-public adoption records.

More issues. “Did you know that almost 50% of the firms that sell your ancestry information turn around and sell your genetic information so some other company,” said Sheldon Krimsky. https://now.tufts.edu
