The Past of St. Augustine, Florida #georgiapioneerscom

Another old Florida Neighborhood in St. Augustine which reflects an interesting past of the Spanish, French and  British!  Oglethorpe ran the Spanish back to Cuba after the Battle of Bloody Marsh on St. Simons Island, Georgia ca 1748.  The Spanish greatly outnumbered the British yet Oglethorpe sent a spy into the British Camp waiting to attack Ft. Frederica concerning their capacity of defeat the Spanish.  The message was fake, of course!
