Cobb County Genealogy Library Closing

The Georgian Room at the Switzer Library, 266 Roswell Street, Marietta will close Monday, July 1st. A major renovation lasting 2 years is beginning for this library. On Sept. 1, 2019, the Georgian Room will reopen in a smaller area, with most Georgia books. (No microfilm will be available). Meanwhile, The Windy Hill Location, 1885 Roswell Street, Smyrna offers a fairly good Virginia selection for genealogists.
The Georgia State Library is open Tuesday-Saturday of each week, but closes on holidays, so it is best to phone first.
Meanwhile, GeorgiaPioneers.com offers county records for Georgia, such as images of old wills and estates, as well as marriage records.
